Principal Systems Development Engineer

We design and develop electronic and electro-mechanical or systems-orientated products, conduct feasibility studies on engineering proposals and prepare installation, operation and maintenance specifications and instructions. What you’ll achieve
As a Principal Systems Development Engineer, you will design, define and implement complex system requirements for customers and prepare studies and analyses of existing systems. Our team drives innovative new platform architectures and detailed designs that span both HW and SW while enabling scalable design methodologies for Dell's enterprise products.

You will:

Deliver assigned system interfaces with designs that span extended teams
Develop design and architectural documentation defining innovative features and technologies for next generation systems.
Design, develop and implement efficient and scalable design methods that span HW and SW layers of the system.
Prepare test and diagnostic programs, create prototypes, and debug new features on next generation products

Essential Requirements
• 8 to 12 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree or 6+ years with a master’s degree
• Strong understanding of computer systems
• Broad knowledge of hardware and software interactions, and ability to apply this understanding to resolve issues

Desirable Requirements

Strong communication skills with an ability to lead a workgroup
A mixture of HW and SW experience
Capability to influence others to achieve results

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $157,250 - $203,500
