Job Description

Job Title:                                 Cloud DevOps Engineer - Junior

Location:                                 Downtown Washington D.C. (mostly client site with limited remote work options consistent with ATA’s “Work from Anywhere” policy)

Position Type:                         Full time/W-2

Experience:                            2+ Experience In relevant field engineering support

Education:                              BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or equivalent field. Master’s degree can be substituted as 4 years of experience. or equivalent field

Clearance and Security:        Active Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance, required.

Citizenship:                            U.S. Citizenship is required. 

SUMMARY

This role supports the execution of complex, mission-critical aviation and national airspace initiatives within a large federal environment. The effort focuses on improving the safety, security, efficiency, and operational effectiveness of aviation systems through the delivery of modernized technology, data-driven capabilities, and enhanced program execution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Works as a team member to provide infrastructure and engineering support for Cloud applications hosted in FAA Cloud Services. 

  • May operate on Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure clouds supported by FAA.

  • Must be proficient in Terraform and/or Ansible to support cloud systems in Microsoft and Linux environments.

  • The Cloud Specialist will be implementing prototypes using new technologies and innovative techniques.

  • This individual will research, architect, develop, and/or modify enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software including DevOps, security, and data analytic solutions. 

  • This individual must be well versed in DevOps using industry standards and open source resources.

  • He or she can solve simple problems, and most oftentimes will require direct supervision provided by more experienced personnel. 

  • Client also stated a desire for experience with Terraform/Ansible.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ Experience In relevant field
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or equivalent field. Master’s degree can be substituted as 4 years of experience.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be a US Citizen.

  • This position requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance to be considered.

  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

 

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

  • Amazon certifications a plus.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for Cloud DevOps Engineer - Jr: $69,000 – $80,000
  • Pay commensurate with experience.
  • Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
