Job Description

⚙️ What This Job Actually Is

You'll lead a small team of data platform engineers building and maintaining the internal data infrastructure that powers analytics across Relativity. That means owning architectural decisions, getting your hands dirty with the tech, and making sure the people around you grow. This is not a people manager role where you attend standups and delegate. You will code, review, design, and decide.

🚀 What You'll Do Day-to-Day

  • Lead and actively mentor a team of data platform engineers — not just manage them

  • Drive architecture decisions for distributed systems using Spark, Delta Lake, and Apache Iceberg

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines and lakehouse-based analytics workflows

  • Own code quality standards: modular design, CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews

  • Tune performance and optimize costs in cloud-native environments at scale

  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and product teams

  • Set technical direction, propose improvements, and help the team grow

🧠 What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years in data engineering with at least 2 years in a tech lead or senior role

  • Deep expertise in Apache Spark — not just using it, but tuning it

  • Hands-on experience with Delta Lake or Apache Iceberg

  • Strong Python skills — you write clean, testable, production-grade code

  • Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP

  • Solid grasp of data modeling, schema design, and storage formats (Parquet, ORC, Avro)

  • You communicate clearly, give direct feedback, and care about your team's growth

✨ Nice to Have

  • Experience with Databricks or similar lakehouse platforms

  • Familiarity with streaming data (Kafka, Flink, Kinesis)

  • Background in legal tech, SaaS, or regulated data environments

🏢 How We Work

You'll be embedded in an engineering culture that values ownership, directness, and craft. You zoom in on a tricky pipeline bug. You give direct feedback, you receive it, and you create space for engineers on your team to do the same. You don't gate-keep knowledge — you share it.

Relativity is a team with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and identities, and they mean it. People do their best work when they can be themselves at work. If you need adjustments to the interview process or the role setup, just ask.

💰 What You Get

  • 💵PLN 270,000 – 406,000 base salary + annual performance bonus + long-term incentives

  • 🏠Remote work (Kraków-based team)

  • 🏥Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage

  • 👶Parental leave for primary and secondary caregivers

  • 🌴Two full company-wide breaks per year

  • 📚Dedicated training investment budget
